The range of technologies that can be used in teaching has never been greater and new technologies are fast becoming a core part of all learning activities at Concordia.

When considering technology-based resources in your teaching you need to be primarily mindful of the pedagogical impact of the resources.

At the CTLS we're working on different ways to support faculty and graduate students with the changes ahead through tools like our new professional development screencasts. Choose a training tutorial from any of the screencast series to get started. Learn how faculty, students and staff are using some of these new technologies in their own teaching and research to cultivate critical thinking through collaboration.

We've got several more training series currently in production including emerging uses of social media in teaching and learning, eLearning, blended learning and PowerPoint for beginners and advanced users. If you have a screencast in mind or teaching strategy you'd like to share we'd like to hear about..

As a member of Concordia's faculty you have access to a range of resources and support services to help you create and use new technology resources in your teaching. Visit the faculty support pages provided by Instructional and Information Technology Services (IITS) as a first port of call:

For help and feedback on the pedagogical aspects of using technology in teaching, contact us at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Services.

Note: Please be aware that Concordia University does not currently have a policy concerning the use of social media in teaching and learning. While the question of use of external, third party social media is being investigated, faculty are advised to check with the Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning, respective Associate Dean or Office of the General Counsel to find out if the tools or platforms in question are deemed acceptable in terms of privacy and security. A determination will be made on a case by case basis until such time as a University-wide policy has been adopted.
